Rameder offers convenient towbar for Audi e-tron

The long charging periods of early electric cars probably sometimes made their owners wish for a caravan while out on the road. Although this would often not have been possible, as many models did not have an approved towing load. Modern premium electric cars such as the Audi e-tron are in a whole different class: With their high starting torque, large batteries and powerful fast-charging function, they are actually ideal for towing trailers on short and medium distances. The suitable towbar for retrofitting is available from Rameder. From end of November, it will be available in the online shop at www.rameder.nl.
From a practical, ecological purchase to a dream car: electric vehicles have had quite a career. The best example is the new Audi e-tron, which puts even strong diesel and gasoline cars in their place with its 408 HP (300 kW) and 660 Nm. All this power is not just for fun, though, it can also be put to good use – such as towing a trailer. The approved towing load is 1.8 tons, which is enough for quite a decent-sized caravan or a smaller horsebox trailer. Thanks to Rameder, the required towbar can always be retrofitted at a low cost. The high vertical load is particularly interesting if a carrier system is to be attached to the tow ball. An impressive 100 kg are available, which is easily enough even for a fully loaded electric bike carrier. As an additional protection against thieves, the ball head itself can also be locked.
The solution from Rameder is visually appealing, too, as only a small cut has to be made in the concealed area of the bumper during installation. This is a great advantage of the design which features attachment from underneath. When the towbar is required, the detachable tow ball engages automatically when it is placed, without any further steps. After all, e-tron drivers like things convenient. So the maiden journey can start straight away. And those who choose the alternative camera solution over the wing mirrors can enjoy an excellent overview without blind spots.
